There's a fascinating exhibition currently running at the 'Fashion & Textile Museum' on Bermondsey Street, near London Bridge. Entitled Tommy Nutter: Rebel on The Row the exhibition considers the impact of Tommy's arrival onto the Savile Row scene in 1969, and studies the details of the Nutter style that attracted rock stars, actors and aristocrats.
With a large number of original pieces on display, you can take in the unique charm and wit of his creations. You may never see so many wide lapels, satin, velvet and patchwork gathered in one place again! There's also the original door from the shop and a replica of the original Nutters display window - wide open plate glass - that caused quite a stir on Savile Row at the time.
After, you might also enjoy a pint of real ale at The Woolpack public house just a little further along Bermondsey Street. We can confirm that they also serve a highly satisfactory lunch.
The exhibition runs until 22nd October 2011
